The following tables describe the required and recommended port and IP configurations.
The MMH server must be placed behind your organization's firewall. The following table specifies incoming TCP and UDP ports that must be directed by your firewall to the server. No other incoming traffic can be forwarded to the MMH server.
You can use any available external port and forward the traffic towards the server’s internal ports #18255 and #1935. You also need to add external ports to the MMH server configuration, in the event the external ports aren't the same as the internal ones.
Note
If any of the ports are unavailable, contact LiveU support for help in assigning unused UDP ports during the initial configuration.
Note
Port / IP configurations occasionally change. To ensure that these configurations are up-to-date, see Network Requirements for LiveU Products on the LiveU Help Center.
Protocol |
Port |
Source/Destination |
Comments |
---|---|---|---|
Inbound UDP (Video) |
9001-9006 |
Anywhere |
For incoming video and audio from any LiveU device. |
Inbound UDP (IFB) |
8609-8615 |
Anywhere |
Required only if using LiveU's IFB feature. |
Inbound TCP (Delivery of shared files) |
18255 |
Anywhere |
For HTTP delivery of shared files from your MMH server to your computer. |
Outbound TCP |
873, 1873, 22222 |
rsync.liveu.TV 34.211.59.49 52.38.193.171 |
Allows remote updates of the servers through LiveU Central. |
Outbound TCP |
80, 443, 8543 |
lu-central.liveu.tv 54.83.195.191 18.208.108.178 |
Used by the MMH server to communicate configuration details to LUC. Required to allow for 6.0+ features to be recognized and available. |
Outbound DNS |
Your organization's DNS server or 4.2.2.2 |
The server must be able to reach a DNS server. Any DNS server, either internal or external to your network, is acceptable. |
|
Outbound TCP |
80, 443, 10020 |
hub1.liveu.tv 23.21.58.175 hub2.liveu.tv 46.137.77.107 |
Command and Control protocol. If your firewall allows all outbound sessions, you do not need to open any explicit ports. |
Inbound UDP |
Special: Any UDP flood or attack protection |
Anywhere |
If your firewall offers any form of UDP flood or attack prevention, the IP address of your server needs to be whitelisted to disable this feature for this IP. The video and audio stream is a long-running, high bandwidth stream of UDP packets and such features might interfere with receiving that stream. |
Inbound TCP (WebRTC-Preview) |
18100-18199 |
Anywhere |
For video preview in the LU Central via WebRTC |
Inbound UDP |
15700 |
Anywhere |
The default base port is set to 15700 but can be changed via the Central management platform. If changed, the firewall settings need to be changed as well. |
The following port and IP configurations are recommended. Not adding these configurations might prevent LiveU from remotely updating the software, etc. |
|||
Inbound TCP (Failsafe) |
10022 |
Anywhere |
If the MMH server can’t reach the main HUB, units can still select channels and start streaming from the unit GUI. |
Outbound TCP |
10000 |
hub1.liveu.tv 23.21.58.175 hub2.liveu.tv 46.137.77.107 |
Port 10,000 TCP to hub1.liveu.tv, and hub2.liveu.tv is optional for connectivity testing. |
Outbound UDP |
9000-9099 |
Anywhere |
Allow outbound MMH server traffic as LiveU Multipoint distributor for Matrix. |
Outbound TCP |
8400-8600 |
medic.liveu.tv 54.83.47.114 |
LiveU’s support tool allows for the remote upgrade of the MMH and diagnosis and debugs when necessary. Without this access, LiveU cannot offer the same level of support on your MMH. If your firewall already allows all outbound sessions, you do not need to open any explicit ports. |
