The LU810 is a 5G, 4K, multi-cam rackmount contribution encoder for vehicles and fixed locations. It is used as a professional multi-camera REMI contribution encoder for production trucks and fixed locations, combining unparalleled video performance with extreme bandwidth efficiency. The LU810 supports wired as well as 5G/4G bonded transmission for superior reliability, offering the perfect hybrid cellular/satellite solution for SNG trucks, point-to-point and point-to-multipoint distribution.
[For LU810-M models only] Your unit may come with SIM cards pre-installed, depending on whether it was purchased (no SIMs) or leased (with SIMs).
Your unit comes with 6 x modem modules, which support a dual-sim option per modem. These modules allow you to install 2 sets of SIMs (A and B), where the option to switch between these SIMs on a specific modem or on all modems at once is given via LiveU Central.
Note
The LU810-M requires external antennas to be connected as per local recommendations and limitations in order to function correctly. For more information, please talk to your LiveU representative.
We recommend inserting the SIMs while the system is turned off.
Flip the Power button on the front panel to turn the unit on. The LU810 will display the Home screen once it is ready for transmission, typically within 30 seconds from power on.
Note
The LU810 comes with an AC/DC power supply that we recommend connecting in parallel to the standard mains connection, providing additional power-supply redundancy.
The LU810 uses a rotary JOG, a Back/Prev Button and a Power/Play button to navigate through the on-screen GUI.
-
Pressing the JOG button from the Home screen will open the Main menu.
-
Once you have a menu on-screen, move the selection bar up and down by turning the JOG button to confirm your selection.
-
Press the Back/Prev button to go back a step (to the previous menu etc.)
-
Use the Power/Play button to toggle between starting and stopping streaming on the unit and turning the unit on and off.
The LU810 provides two operational modes:
-
Live: Select this Profile for the LU810 to automatically start streaming when it goes live. Video is streamed according to the delay that is specified in the Main screen. This mode is selected by default.
-
Store & Forward: Select this mode when end-to-end delay is less important. This setting provides high image quality with high end-to-end delay. The video will appear as a file in LiveU Central.
1. To select an operational mode, navigate to the Mode option in the Menu screen. |
2. Press the JOG button to display the Mode screen. |
|
|
3. Use the JOG to navigate to the required mode, and then press the JOG button to select it. |
Video is streamed from the LU810 system via the Internet to the selected MMH instance (channel) using one or more networks. The LU810 can stream to either of the following channel types by specifying the broadcast channel to be used, as described below:
-
LU2000/4000 Output Channel: The LU2000/4000 is typically located at the customer’s premises with either an SDI output or an IP streaming option to the cloud. The LU2000/LU400 can also be deployed in the cloud.
-
Virtual Group Channel: For previewing in the LiveU Central. Virtual Groups are indicated by the icon before the channel name in the Channels screen.
Your LU810 unit can work in either single camera mode or multi-camera mode. A single camera, connected to SDI port 1, supports an SD / HD / 3D 12G-SDI signal. In multi-camera mode, you can connect up to four HD / 3G-SDI cameras, using up to four SDI cables.
Whichever video standard and resolution you choose, a camera must be connected to SDI port 1. Make sure to connect the remaining cameras in sequential order.
Note
Your LU810 will always power up in single-camera mode. To move to multi-camera mode please go to LiveU Central, or use the LiveU Control+ app.
